Women's Hormonal Problems Overview

What are hormonal imbalances?

Often when a woman develops a health problem, there is usually a link to imbalances in her hormones. These imbalances are often attributed to some less significant problems such as acne and premature aging, to more complicated issues including extreme pain and excessive flow during menstruation, and to even more serious issues such as infertility or the inability to carry a baby to full term.

Women's bodies create two hormones naturally: estrogen and progesterone. Both hormones play important roles in her body, and the balance needs to be kept in order for everything to work properly. Many things can affect the balance of these hormones however, including stress and lack of balanced nutrition or proper exercise.

It is commonly believed that women do not experience hormonal imbalances until they reach peri-menopause, however it is unfortunate that many women suffer from problems associated with their hormones throughout their teenage years, and therefore most, if not all, of their adult lives.

These may develop into more significant problems such as allergies, chronic fatigue, and even depression. Some will experience severe or frequent headaches or migraines, become dizzy or find concentration difficult.
